God tured to Adam and said: "Adam you're alone in your kind in the whole world, would you like me to create you a woman?"
Adam: " what is a "woman?"
God: "Woman is a person of your kind that will love you, make you food, clean for you, and do whatever you want."
Adam: "Yes, dear lord, I do!!!!!"
God: "Okay, but you'll have to give me one eye, one finger, one arm, one leg, and two ribs."
Adam: "What can I get with one rib?"

Movie Survey [08 Feb 2006|06:36pm]
Supposedly if you've seen over 70 movies, you have no life.
Number the ones you've seen. Put your score in header and repost.

Not counting ones I walked out on... )

It was once said, "You can either do the right thing or the easy thing, for they are never the same thing." Some days I feel I don't do either.

You know what I'm really in the mood for? [27 Jan 2006|04:44pm]
[ music | Hinder - Get Stoned ]

Getting really drunk and being a horrible person. Come on a 6 pack and making fun of handicap people sounds like a Friday night well spent.

Busy weekend [23 Jan 2006|02:29am]
Friday was pretty low key boring. I stayed at home and played ddr around 9ish. Man... Not running and trying to bulk really has taken away my endurance. After I got home I had an exit interview with Molly. We agreed to hang out on Saturday and watch the American Beauty pageant. One of her friends from high school was Ms Nebraska.

But before than I went to the Magic Prerelease... I went 4-0, but since I was about to tie with the guy third round... (had him at 1 life and couldn't finnish him) we agreed to roll for the win and split our winnings. I went on to win, he went on to lose. So he got half my box for going 2-2 and rolling to me.

After the tournament I hung out with Jeff Weber for awhile... got the Chimay Red Ale... amazing. After the pageant Molly and I went to Granite City to grab a bite. Tim and Emily saw us and ran out to say hello. Man was Em toasted. Tim looked a bit surprised to see us together I think, but this out to clear things up. Hanging out also gave us a chance to exchange each others stuff. I was tired as hell and went bed. When I woke up the next day,
"The Molly said:
thanks for hanging out with me
The Molly said:
even though your friends called
The Molly said:
i got my vase. i may or may not bother you again"

was on my messenger. Turns out she still talked to me later, but I was out at day two of the prerelease. Cody and I played two headed giant together again. A 2 vs 2 format, and we went undefeated... again. I really like this set... for sealed deck it is very hard to build and rewards skillful play. Or at least seeing as I did well thats what I'd like to believe.

After that we all went to Old Chicago again... spilt another Chimay Red Ale... man thats some good stuff. After cracking my packs I crashed. I attacked the futon and passed out watching tv for several hours. After all, I only got 4 hours of sleep Friday night, 6 hours off and on Saturday night then I got up early to work out Sunday. After I got up from my nap I did some push ups and chin ups. Figured I might as well do some squats too. With an 8lb dumbbell in each hand I did two sets of 50 step lunges... so thats really two sets of 25? Anyway, man was that a whole new burn. First time those muscles have ever cramped.

All together a fun busy weekend.

Good news! I missed a package from ups, which means tomorrow my college diploma is going to be delivered again.

I was out helping a cousin move in to her new place.

When I came back I met new neighbors that are moving in the building across from me.

3/4 of my xmases are over, and all went well. I even got beer from one of them!

I read Ender's game in a day. Good book, now I need to have a marathon and get another 25% of the way through KH:CoM. Anyone doing anything fun tonight or this week?

This just in... [12 Dec 2005|10:01pm]
Hungry...

Got food in the house, just don't know what I want.

Got a bit of a headache.

Watched Shaun of the Dead, well worth my time.

Two finals this week, Tuesday 8:15pm and Wednesday at 1.

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories is awesome... All 3/4 of my Xmas events are this weekend... the other one doesn't happen until Jan 3rd-ish. Meaning I get to spend another holiday in the comfort of my own home. My family is so busy accomidating the in-laws I'm all alone. Oh well, Its not when its who, I'll have a happy holiday no matter what.

I went to the marching band's performance in the Lied center... even got a free ticket thanks to the random kindness of a stranger. Karmatically I had it coming to me.

Is it weird that a normal day seems like a crappy day if you're used to good days?

Recently the ladies have been nice, and although I enjoy thier company I think I'm just ready for a change of pace. Even a gallon of ice cream quits tasting good after a while. Stupid comparison, and I just don't care.

EMO'ED

Oh well, I'm sure tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day.

We be burnin' [20 Nov 2005|01:49am]
[ music | Sean Paul - We be Burnin' ]

The candle at both ends.

A lot of stupid stuff happens, but I'm far too cool to let it bug me.

I'm going to get into strength training. Not bodybuilding, not weight lifting, I want practical muscles. I want to do push ups, sit ups and pull ups to win any bar bet. I want the sleeves of my shirt to be tight.

Hell, if I knew how easy it was going to be to get in shape I would have done it years ago. I'm shooting for an 8 and 1/5 mile run tomorrow.

You know, I almost feel guilty for getting lazy and turning in a crap paper to my professor... almost.

Dick shouldn't have assigned such a stupid case study. Fuck dell. :p

11 school days + 1 week of finals before I graduate.

Rain rain go away [22 Oct 2005|10:56am]
It was a cold and dreary morning... the second sound I hear is the rain pitter pattering gently against the window. The first being my nasty alarm clock.

What an awful day to leave my house... so what do I do? I participate in the YWCA's 3 mile Rally against Racism. As we were lining up for an un-timed race half the group just bolts... after 30 seconds I figure I'm just getting wet, might as well start. I shot out after them, quickly caught up and decided they were running too slow. I went at my regular pace... leading the pack... something I did not expect to do...

About halfway through I realized I didn't know where to turn, I was expecting a person holding a sign... instead I just went a bit too far, turned around and waited for the people I was ahead of to catch up. In less than a minute a 45 year old man comes barreling down the path, sees me, and points. I try to keep up with the 6 foot 6 man only to be out strided. At least I have a jersey to follow! Two turns later I was coming up on the people at the end of the 1 mile walk... I ran past the finnish line straight into the warm building housing bottles of water that are about the same temperature as my skin. Thats not to say they weren't cold, just I was soaked through all my layers and to the bone.

With only one competitive racer in the event I placed second finishing in an unknown time beating out all the women and minorities. Take that Sudanese Refugees.
Rain 0 Bryan 1

Tonight is Ramadan night at the Union with food culture and speakers about the Muslim/Islam faith. If anyone is interested in joining me feel free to call or leave a message.

Since when did Bryan become a vegetarian hippie?

Muzik [14 Oct 2005|08:57pm]
Ever rediscover a love of your life?

I seriously need to get an ipod shuffle for when I go running. I need to burn cds for my car. I need to read more. I should sign up on facebook? I need to watch less tv. I need to learn how to balance buffets. Just because its only 1300 calories of my 2800 daily quota doesn't mean I should eat 3 bowls of soup, 3 breadsticks, and a giant bowl of salad at the olive garden in one sitting. Whoops. Yummy, but slows my metabolism and prevents me from moving. I wanted to play ddr/itg tonight, now I'm forced to focus on letting my body process food.

My muscle memory is kicking in. Now that I've returned my caloric intake to a reasonable amount with plenty of protein I'm starting to fill out again without gaining crazy tons of body mass.

After getting girl advice from a variety of sources I've realized I don't have to do anything special, nor should I. If the way I am isn't good enough for someone else, they aren't good enough for me.

I'm a faster runner than I've ever been before, but I should really take a rest day. Nevertheless I hope to be running half marathons by next spring.

I've learned alcohol in moderation isn't a bad thing, but its still not a good thing. And after listening to my body after consuming meat at my aunt's place last weekend I do notice a difference, and I don't have any desire to eat it. It makes you stink among other things... like you're pooping dead rotting bodies... oh wait... that what it is. :p

I should start lifting weights, and just like I'm taking zinc, b12, iron, and everything else to make up for what I'm missing, creatine would also be acceptable, but if I do I want to start lifting first.

I wouldn't mind going vegan, but its expensive, and makes it hard as hell to go out to eat. As much as I love soy milk, it costs almost 4 times as much. Is it weird that I don't even like eating out as much anymore? I'd rather cook for myself, cheaper, better for me, and almost always tastes better.

I should hang out with John Kurtenbach and Matt Rogers. I should really do something about John's soy milk soaked Dude Love deck... oops.

Most hobbies take too large of a time commitment... which is why I don't want to spend the brain power to get back into magic no matter how many cards I win. I'd much rather do something practical I can use for the rest of my life. Like muscles, girls, cooking skill, education and the such. Speaking of I've got some wicked tons of writing to do this weekend for MNGT 475.

Where was I? Muzik, its better than me. From old jazz, to classics few know of...

You should be listening to...
Depeche Mode - Precious
Nikkfurie de La Caution - Thé à la menthe
The Dangerdoom album
Other stuff I should be listening to too.

Apparently I'm going to Florida come November... Rock on.

First run [09 Oct 2005|04:50pm]
So I did the "Run for the South" 5K run at the Devaney Center today... it was really only 4k... but thats cool. I ended up running the 2.5 miles in 19:14 Pretty much on pace for a 24 min 5k, which was my goal.

I placed 10th, and there were a decent amount of people there 30-50ish. I'm bad with numbers. Plus there were people who looked way better than me running slower and the such. But there was also a 14 year old who kicked my butt.

I was talking to a girl who I think I beat who runs 4 plus miles a day, more than me... I think I told her I ran 9:14. Oops, Sorry Mellisa, I didn't mean to lie.

Nevertheless the run was a lot of fun, and I chilling with my family was good too.

A cousin joked that I had a parasite/worms. :p Nope, too easy. Carl said that I was a vegetarian, which at first I was a slightly angry. I feel that there is a major negative connotation with living a meat free lifestyle. However I lost the weight I'm proud and if I did something thats good for the environment, animals or whatever rock on. In addition Carl has also lost quite a bit of weight and is looking really good. They compared and contrasted me in my brother Mark's wedding pictures and they were just as shocked as I was. I'm skinnier!

Nevertheless they all laid up after I took out 3 plates of food including an "Egg Bake" with sausage. First time I've eaten pork in over 5 months. I must admit it tasted mighty fine. But still not something I'd normally buy or cook. It was great seeing everyone again, and hugging grandma is a wonderful thing. Momsy and Dadsy were good to see too. Mom is ball of happiness between seeing her two thinner kids and her fast growing grandchild and one on the way.

Slightly depressing is everyone has a significant other there but me and the my female cousin in high school. So everyone had someone to stand next to in pictures but me. Oh well, time comes and goes and I'm sure I'll develop a relationship sooner or later. The funny thing is that tons of my male cousins have lived abroad and married someone from another country. My eldest aunt married a guy from Columbia? Their two sons married a girl from Uruguay and Venezuela, another cousin married a girl from Russia.

Yeah, my family travels well... even if its 2.5 miles at a time.
