Rain rain go away
It was a cold and dreary morning... the second sound I hear is the rain pitter pattering gently against the window. The first being my nasty alarm clock.

What an awful day to leave my house... so what do I do? I participate in the YWCA's 3 mile Rally against Racism. As we were lining up for an un-timed race half the group just bolts... after 30 seconds I figure I'm just getting wet, might as well start. I shot out after them, quickly caught up and decided they were running too slow. I went at my regular pace... leading the pack... something I did not expect to do...

About halfway through I realized I didn't know where to turn, I was expecting a person holding a sign... instead I just went a bit too far, turned around and waited for the people I was ahead of to catch up. In less than a minute a 45 year old man comes barreling down the path, sees me, and points. I try to keep up with the 6 foot 6 man only to be out strided. At least I have a jersey to follow! Two turns later I was coming up on the people at the end of the 1 mile walk... I ran past the finnish line straight into the warm building housing bottles of water that are about the same temperature as my skin. Thats not to say they weren't cold, just I was soaked through all my layers and to the bone.

With only one competitive racer in the event I placed second finishing in an unknown time beating out all the women and minorities. Take that Sudanese Refugees.
Rain 0 Bryan 1

Tonight is Ramadan night at the Union with food culture and speakers about the Muslim/Islam faith. If anyone is interested in joining me feel free to call or leave a message.

Since when did Bryan become a vegetarian hippie?

Nice.

Can't not love 5Ks in the rain.

Even better is knee-deep snow. Minus shovels and plows. Plus high-school cross-country dress code. At least we 15'ed the other team.

If I hadn't read your post two days after the fact, I totally would have gone to Ramadan night w/ you. But it's Monday evening, and that idea's shot.

Hope you had fun regardless of my presence. I know, it's hard. . .
